PAST SIMPLE + CONTINUOUS
Use the Simple Past to express the idea that an action started and finished at a specific time in the past.
Affirmative:
I played tennis.
You played tennis.
He/She/It played tennis.
We played tennis.
You played tennis.
They played tennis.
Negative:
I didn't play tennis.
You didn't play tennis.
He/She/It didn't play tennis.
We didn't play tennis.
You didn't play tennis.
They didn't play tennis.
Interrogative:
Did I play tennis?
Did you play tennis?
Did he/she/it play tennis?
Did we play tennis?
Did you play tennis?
Did they play tennis?
PAST CONTINUOUS:
Affirmative:
I was playing tennis.
You were playing tennis.
